Provillus is a supplement that is used for hair loss treatment. The supplement is made of mostly natural supplements and contains of ingredients like kola, pumpkin extract, pumpkin extract zinc magnesium and many others. Provillus is available for both genders; there is provillus for men and provillus for women.
It is obvious that both men and women suffer from hair loss but for a long time now it was assumed that it was only women were concerned about their hair loss. This is not true and this is why there is provilllus for men to help men deal with their hair loss.
When provillus was introduced there were questions raised concerning its safety with some people doubting whether it was really safe. It later came to emerge that provillus was very safe for people to use in solving their hair loss problems.
Actually it is the only FDA approved tropical ingredient that has been proven to make hair re-grow. The point where provillus really scores big is that it makes hair re-grow suing only natural means. The product only contains liquids and pills that help a man re-grow lost hair fast.
Another major advantage of provillus is the speed at which it works. It is known that all bodies respond to medication and supplements differently and the same still applies to provillus. But if you compare the average periods within which provillus gives results with that of other related supplements, it really produces results fast.
Provillus is designed in a way that it supplies nutrients directly to hair follicles. This prevents hair loss and makes the hair regrow naturally. On average it takes between 3 and 6 months to stop hair loss and re-grow hair again. Those who have used it say it is very effective in combating balding as well as reversing the effects of hair loss.
What most people have never known is that provillus contains ingredients that are easily available in the stores. The only difference is that for one to consume nutrients so that it reaches the concentration of like that contained in the provillus, you have to use quite a large amount of money.
So it is more economically viable to buy the ready ingredients in the form of provillus than think of consuming the individual components that contain the ingredients as it might take a long time before even the slightest results are achieved.
Some of the most effective ingredients found in the provillus include zinc, vitamin B6, Biotin and saw palmetto. Vitamin B6 helps in metabolism and supports the health of the various body functions including growth of hair. Zinc on the other hand improves the immune system as well as promoting growth of healthy nails skin as well as hair.

Can your own blood fight baldness?
London - Ill-fitting wigs, ludicrous comb-overs and transplants have all been used by men desperate to hide the irreversible tide of baldness.
Now a solution known as the “vampire treatment” is being hailed as a major breakthrough in the battle against hair loss.
Scientists have found that injecting patients’ bald patches with a solution derived from their own blood prompts the hair to regrow.
The treatment involves extracting and processing “platelet-rich plasma” (PRP) from the patient’s blood in a laboratory and then injecting it back into his head.
The solution stimulates new stem cells below the skin which can help hair to grow back, according to the research, which is published in the British Journal of Dermatology.
Researcher Dr Fabio Rinaldi said: “We think it can help to regrow hair on people with androgenic alopecia [male baldness]. We believe it is the best treatment available, apart from surgery.”
In the study, volunteers given the PRP treatment had significant hair regrowth in their bald patches, compared to those who received a more traditional steroid treatment or a placebo.
The scientists, based at the International Hair Research Foundation and the University of Brescia in Italy and the Hebrew University Medical Centre in Israel, hope to be able to replace the need for injections by developing the treatment as a cream.

Now, 'vampire treatment' to cure baldness
London: Vampire therapy, the latest beauty treatment for younger skin - which involves injecting patients with their own blood - may also provide a cure for baldness, scientists say.
Researchers have successfully regrown hair on the bald patches on people's heads by injecting them with a solution derived from their own blood.
The 'vampire' treatment involves taking blood from the patient and processing it in a machine that extracts 'platelet-rich plasma' (PRP), which is then injected back into the head.
The solution is believed to stimulate new stem cells below the skin which can aid the regrowth of hair, media reported.
Such 'vampire' treatments are already used in some cosmetic procedures, where injections of PRP are used in an effort to reduce the effects of ageing on the face and hands.
The research, published in the British Journal of Dermatology, was conducted among a group of people suffering from alopecia areata, a condition in which hair is lost from some or all areas of the body, usually from the scalp.
However, the scientists believe it could also help those suffering from more than one common varieties, such as male-pattern baldness.
"We think it can help to regrow hair on people with androgenic alopecia (male-pattern baldness). We believe it is the best treatment available, apart from surgery," researcher Dr Fabio Rinaldi said.
The study involved 45 patients, who received the injections on just one half of their head. Some were given the PRP, some were given a more traditional steroid treatment, while others received a placebo.
A total of three treatments were given to each patient, once a month. Hair growth was assessed by measuring the area where new hair grew on the bald scalp.
The PRP was found to lead to significant hair regrowth in the bald patches, compared with both the placebo and the steroid treatment.
The scientists, based at the International Hair Research Foundation and University of Brescia in Italy and the Hebrew University Medical Centre in Israel, are carrying out further research.
They hope to be able to develop the treatment as a cream, to avoid the need for needles.

Toupee or not toupee
That is not the question, as modern advances point to hair transplant as the real answer to hair loss.
IT’S mystifying how hair – something that doesn’t have any real biological function, save perhaps to act as a filter for parts of the human body – can affect a person so emotionally and mentally.
Too much hair or the lack of it, can be a real cause for concern. Imagine hair growing in all the wrong places (hypertrichosis: a condition with abnormal hair growth on the body and face, sometimes dubbed the Werewolf Syndrome); women with beards (think: circus act) or just basically too hairy legs or armpits!
Conversely, a thinning pate, though hardly a debilitating problem, can deliver a severe blow to one’s self-esteem. Not every man can take going bald gracefully, and certainly, no woman can live it down.
“Imagine the psychological toll on a person experiencing hair loss. As genetic hair loss often occurs in the young who are just developing their social skills, and unfortunately, very dependent on physical appearance, this can result in irreparable harm to the development of the person as a whole. Health is not only physical but also a mental state,” says consultant dermatologist and hair transplant surgeon Dr Ruban Nathan.
Therein lies the reason why there’s a thriving industry offering herbal, traditional or chemical cures and treatments for hair loss. The word “cure”, however, could be misleading, as some experts say that once the death knell has sounded for your hairy fate, there may be no redemption.
Ancient Egyptian cures involved rubbing animal fat from lions, ibex, crocodiles, serpents and geese onto the scalp. Some have gone as far as to include recipes that had toes of a dog and hoof of an ass!
More recent remedies for hair loss in the 1800s ranged from the use of “snake oil” to hair tonics like Barry’s Tricopherus, which sometimes turned out to have more alcohol than tonic. Nowadays, the potions of hope are more sophisticated, appearing in the form of tonics such as Helsinki formula, Nioxin and Revivogen.
Hair loss can be due to various factors such as genetics, stress, use of medication, environmental pollution, poor diet and an unhealthy lifestyle. Sometimes, a lifestyle change or stopping a medication can slow down or even stop the hair loss.
Given advances in modern medicine today, it’s possible to halt the very early onset of hair loss with the right topical lotions (minoxidil) and/or drugs.
“Oral medicine such as finasteride can be used to treat male pattern baldness. This communicates a pause button to the scalp and some patients do experience hair regrowth. Normally, the doctor would have to assess the (hair) condition, and this can work even for those who are genetically predisposed to hair loss,” says Dr Ruban.
The real question at hand is, how do you ensure, nay, guarantee, a solution for hair loss?
The answer points to hair transplant, a relatively new field of expertise which has grown in leaps and bounds in the last couple of decades.
How it all took root
The idea of a hair transplant was first mooted in 1939 when Japanese dermatologist Dr Sheiji Okuda developed a breakthrough process to restore hair loss caused by scalp injuries and for burn victims.
Known as the Punch Technique, small sections of hair-bearing skin were extracted and grafted into damaged skin. A few years later, another Japanese dermatologist, Dr Hajime Tamura, improved upon the method by minimising the size of the grafts.
In the early 50s, New York dermatologist Dr Norman Orentreich carried out the first hair transplant using the Punch Technique on genetically balding patients in the United States. By the 60s, hair transplants became a widely sought-after procedure. The results were not as attractive or natural-looking then, but the technique has since been improved upon and evolved into what is known today as Follicular Unit Transplantion.
Dr Ruban was trained in Single Follicular Unit Grafting by Dr Dow Stough, one of its chief proponents and the founder of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgeons.
“This important forum has been an essential catalyst in the development of hair restoration surgery, including refinements in hair graft preparation and donor area harvesting,” he explains.
Making an informed decision
Outside the United States where a hair transplant is already a common option, it remains less well-known to the rest of the world where non-medical hair treatment centres are more popular.
“Surgery is the ‘silent’ solution to genetic hair loss and scarred scalps, and we can safely say, we have a permanent solution for hair loss,” affirms Dr Ruban.
“We’ve come a long way from the early days of punch-grafted ‘doll hair-like’ results. As important as the doctor is in determining a successful outcome, the role of the nurse assistant is also crucial. The dexterity, skill and experience in slivering, dissecting and inserting the donor hair is absolutely crucial in achieving 100% regrowth of the transplanted follicles. If it isn’t done correctly, insertion at the wrong angle or if the follicle is sliced, then the graft will not survive.
“Furthermore, patients’ demand now warrants the ability of the transplant team to perform graft transplants by the thousands. Essentially, grafts of 2,000 to 3,000 would be sufficient to moderately cover the top of the head and fashion a new hairline,” he continues.
In order for such a large session to be performed, a surgeon would need a team of at least four to 10 nurse assistants. Growth of new hair should follow nature’s direction, according to the natural swirl of the crown.
“The creation of a natural hairline remains a vital goal of all transplant surgeons. The art of mimicking nature in this respect can be claimed with pride by an adept and properly trained surgeon who has kept abreast of the latest medical innovations to achieve this.”
Beyond the concept of Follicular Unit transplants has emerged the idea of single Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) and immediate implantation.
“This has become popular with physicans over the last five years as it allows for less surgical training time, driven by the companies that sell extraction drills. In reality, the skill of extracting the follicles is very labour intensive (3,000 grafts can take the whole day), with a higher transection rate or death of the follicle in inexperienced hands.
“The added advantage would be the need for fewer nurse assistants to help reinsert the follicles, which remains a deft and difficult technique,” concludes Dr Ruban.

Provillus - the Natural Hair Regrowth Treatment for Men and Women Now Available Online with Special Discount Offer
Provillus is a non-prescription oral supplement to aid hair growth and reverse hair loss. Provillus for men does this by blocking the production of an androgen called DHT (Dihydrotestosterone), which clogs up hair follicles, leading to increasingly thinner hair an eventual baldness in men.
Provillus also claims to revive dormant or nearly dead hair follicles, which most other hair loss products will not vouch for. Provillus for women uses a slightly different formula which focuses more on cleansing the scalp and supplying nutrients to the hair follicles, enabling scalp hair to grow faster and thicker.
Ingredients: Vitamin B6, Biotin, Saw Palmetto, Nettle, Gotu Kola, Pumpkin seed extract, Eleuthero Root, Uva-Ursi and Muria Puama
While Saw Palmetto, Nettle and Gotu Kola are common to most hair fall control solutions, the pumpkin seed extracts, which contain carbohydrates, amino acids and polyunsaturated fatty acids are unique to Provillus, and provide a natural form of nutrient supplements to help nourish and revive nearly dormant hair follicles.
Usage: Recommended usage is one to two capsules a day, for about 6 to 8 weeks. If no results are apparent by then, you would likely need to increase the dosage. Provillus for men and women are different products, to be used in different circumstances.
For women, it is mostly to control temporary hair loss due to hormonal changes, such as heavy menstruation or after pregnancy. Provillus for men will block an excess production of DHS by the body, and put a stop to hair loss, while some ingredients of the formula try to trigger increase in the hair growth rate.
Side Effects: According to the company, there are almost no known side effects. No loss in sexual appetite for men, no scalp problems and nothing in their extensive studies hints at any signs of bodily disorder specifically due to the use of Provillus.
Some people may experience mild stomach disorders initially, but as the body gets used to the excess saw palmetto contained in the Provillus solution, these symptoms, if any, will fade away.
That said, the very effectiveness of Provillus, as a hair loss control solution, is in doubt by some people who have used the product and found no apparent change in the rate of their hair loss. No decrease, no increase, no side effects Nothing.
A lot of their customers have indeed benefited from a significant decrease in hair loss, and even increased hair growth. Point is, that it could go both ways. So maybe you should study the ingredients and consult your physician before you make a decision to opt for Provillus.
As stated above, Provillus is FDA approved, has a 100% money back guarantee and has no known side effects. So, there should be, ideally speaking, no harm or loss, in trying out Provillus.

Struggling with hair loss
I’m a middle-aged man suffering from hair loss and it’s especially apparent at the centre of my head. During my early 30s, I didn’t have a hair loss problem but once I touched 35, possibly due to stress from work and family, it became apparent within a year.
I feel it’s pretty serious and all these years, there hasn’t been any sign of improvement even though I’ve been using products designed to help with hair loss such as various shampoos, hair tonics and gels. Bearing in mind my actual age, my hairstyle is making me look much older than I really am. Do you have any suggestions? – Philip
According to Randall Wong, national education manager for L’Oreal Professionnel, first of all, you need to determine if your father experienced similar challenges. If he did, chances are, your hair loss is hereditary. Male pattern balding usually begins at the top of the head or along the hair line in front.
Certain medication may also cause hair loss. We can only try to extend the lifespan of each hair follicle and hair before it falls out, if the hair loss is hereditary. If it is temporary due to stress from work and family, then it’s not as complicated. Whatever reason it may be, adequate sleep is vital. Taking supplements like zinc and other multi minerals and vitamins is also helpful and important as it ensures a healthier scalp.
I would like to recommend three basic products for your external use, for optimum scalp and hair care.
When shampooing your hair daily, use L’Oreal Professionnel Density Advance shampoo, that’s designed especially for fine hair and boosting hair volume.
Then, after towel-drying your hair, use the L’Oreal Professionnel Aminexil Advanced anti-hair loss programme. It comes in a roll-on applicator that makes things much easier and you should use the entire dose per application. Massage your scalp using circular movements to improve the product absorption and don’t rinse out. This is a six-week intensive programme and you can carry out the treatment twice a year. The product functions to loosen the hardened collagen on hair follicles, and it contains omega 6 to nourish hair roots and ceramide to reinforce the structure.
After you have completed the full programme, maintain your hair with L’Oreal Professionnel Trinical to extend the lifespan of hair growth cycle.
However, if your problem is cronic, then it’s best to seek medical attention.
L’Oreal Professionnel will be giving Philip a L’Oreal Professionnel Aminexil Advanced, Density Advance shampoo and Trinical, altogether worth RM285.
I have recently returned to Malaysia from abroad and I realise that my skin has become much oilier, excessively so, especially since I sweat a lot as it’s so hot and humid here. I have to go to the washroom to wipe off all the oil and reapply my make-up!
Whenever I go out under the hot sun, my skin tends to get sunburned easily. And it takes so long to go away (months)! I have tried many products for oily skin and made sure I put on sunblock each time I go out, but nothing works. I use SPF 45. Yet I still get sunburned although it isn’t as bad as without sunblock. I even tried bleaching just to get back to my original skin colour!
Is there any product which will help me go under the sun without worrying about how my face is going to look? – ED
Skin barrier damage, says Stephen Lian, Kiehl’s educator, is one of the hidden culprits when it comes to multiple skin reactions. The outermost layer, the epidermis, is the key to the skin barrier. Made up of overlapping layers of dry cells, the epidermis keeps vital nutrients in, and damaging substances and elements out. It also keeps moisture in the body. Thus, apart from choosing products that address your main skin concern, it’s also imperative to choose a product that can repair and maintain a healthier skin barrier.
The first step is to choose a cleanser that helps to thoroughly remove impurities and visibly reduce excess oil on skin’s surface. Look out for cleansers that don’t leave your skin feeling tight, a common sign of dehydration. Try Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Oil-Free Cleanser, an oil-free, quick lathering, cleansing foam that thoroughly removes impurities and reduces excess oil on skin’s surface without over-drying the skin.
Next, use a toner to ensure excess dirt, debris or cleanser residue has been thoroughly removed from the skin. I highly suggest Kiehl’s classic toner, formulated more than 40 years ago, the Calendula Herbal Extract Toner. Formulated without alcohol, it gently soothes and improves problem areas with whole Calendula petals and hydrating glycerin.
Facial moisturisers work to replenish moisture loss and you need one that’s formulated with gentle ingredients, compatible with your skin’s own natural lipids. The texture (light or thick) depends on skin type, environmental and physiological changes as well as one’s own personal preference. For oily skin type, use Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Oil Free Gel Cream for the day. It deeply hydrates and conditions skin, while providing long lasting moisture. It traps moisture to visibly reduce the appearance of oil, leaving skin looking more balanced.
During the night, skin’s metabolism of nutrition is at a maximum rate. Botanical oils, powerhouses of nutrients and essential fatty acids, play a vital role in the regeneration of skin cells and the repair of damaged tissue. Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate, a blend of nourishing squalane derived from olive fruit, night-blooming evening primrose oil and essential oils including therapeutic lavender helps to re-establish a fresher, better tone and radiant appearance by morning while helping to repair and strengthen your skin’s barrier.
It’s important to always choose a sunscreen with high broad spectrum protection such as SPF 50 and PA+++ that utilizes highly stabilised sun filters.
The Ultra Light UV Defense SPF 50 PA+++ is a translucent, non-greasy hydrating formula which has a high level of stabilised Mexoryl SX and Mexoryl XL to provide skin with effective and balanced UVA and UVB broad spectrum protection.
Do visit any one of our Kiehl’s stores for a personalised skin consultation and complimentary skincare samples to help you obtain products suitable for your skin.
